I’m the owner of SWOCO. Truthfully, I am here because I was experiencing existential dread and anxiety every morning walking into my bank job, until I discovered how to use my financial skills in a more meaningful way. I left banking in 2015 and began managing a local wellness center. I quickly fell in love with the idea of supporting the growth of other local small businesses in my community. After 3 years, I left my position managing the wellness center to begin the pursuit of business ownership (and I nannied to pay the bills). In 2019, I gave birth to my first baby, and we were given a pretty devastating diagnosis for him. We immediately leaned into being business owners and worked to create a way to make money from home, so we could spend as much time as possible with our son. We started with an e-commerce platform and grew it completely online over 3 years. We learned our son had been falsely diagnosed and soon after, added a second baby to the mix. We shifted to a service-based model in 2022 when our second baby was born, and that’s where we remain today. I am neurodivergent, so working with business owners who require creative solutions is my forte. Microsystems, accountability and flexibility for frequent mental health days are something I know well.
